Good to Know
How cold is it, honestly?
Around minus five on the terrace. The ceremony is twenty minutes, there are blankets and heaters, and hot wine is waiting on the other side.
What should I put on my feet?
Something with grip. The snow path to the chalet is lit and gritted, but it's still a snow path — bring the good shoes in a bag.
Can we drive up?
Zermatt is car-free. Park at Täsch and take the shuttle train up; we'll have a sled at the station for your bags.
